bVS - Virtual Studio
beyerdynamic Virtual Studio – Inspired by Headzone®
- Software plug-in for use with specific music programmes
- Different listening spaces and speaker set-ups can be simulated via the headphone
Instead of leaving all these places with your mix in your luggage - which can be quite time-consuming and expensive - beyerdynamic offers you the ultimate solution:
A VST- and AU-based plug-in for use with popular music applications like Magix Samplitude, Steinberg Cubase, Apple Logic, etc.
The plug-in simulates real speaker systems (as well as stereo and 5.1) in different environments (recording studio, concert hall etc.) virtually on the headphones.
No more long waiting times or scheduling stress due to studio rooms that are only available for a limited time - with beyerdynamic Virtual Studio you can mix and master whenever and wherever you are. Whether on the train, at home on the sofa or with friends, you can take your studio with you wherever you go.
You can listen to audio tracks or signals through your headphones as if they were coming directly from the speakers in the room.
beyerdynamic virtual studio work?
beyerdynamic Virtaul Studio was developed by us especially for reference monitoring purposes. In cooperation with ITA Aachen (Institut für Technische Akustik) and the famous Aachener Kunstkopf the sound engineers of beyerdynamic have created "acoustic photos" of different loudspeaker systems in different rooms. For this purpose, a sinusoidal signal was sent through each individual loudspeaker and picked up again through the artificial head in the ideal listening position.
With this method, not only the loudspeaker system and the spatiality are taken into account, but also how the sound waves break from different angles at the head of the listener (Head Related Transfer Function). This creates an acoustic image of the loudspeaker systems in their actual surroundings. The impulse responses calculated from this form the basis of the software.
The bVS plug-in is loaded into the mastering section of the music software as the last effect. With the help of impulse responses, bVS calculates via the so-called convolution principle how an audio track or signal sounds on the corresponding loudspeaker in the respective environment and from the ideal position.
